I am a Neuroscience Master's student and from the moment I arrived at Lincoln I was determined to ensure my short time here at Oxford was to be as fulfilling as possible. I have been exceptionally grateful to the Lincoln Blues Fund for their financial support this year which has allowed me to seriously pursue my sporting ambitions alongside my studies. I am also the very grateful recipient of the Kingsgate accommodation scholarship which has made the world of difference to my time here ensuring that I was able to fully focus on my course and wider interests without having to seek out part-time work.
I was fortunate enough to have had a very successful cross country season which culminated in being awarded a full blue following our win over Cambridge at the Varsity Match and a bronze medal at the British University cross country championships (BUCS). My attention has since turned to the track where I have recently finished 10th at the BUCS 10,000m championships in a personal best time of 31:07. I am now hoping to chase the full blue qualifying time over 5000m this summer with a longer term aim of racing the London marathon next year.
I have accepted an offer of a place on the Wolfson PhD programme in neurodegeneration at The Institute of Neurology, UCL starting this September where I am looking forward to joining the front line in the research of neurodegenerative disease. The wonderful times and memories I have here at Lincoln College and Oxford will definitely stay with me for the rest of my life.
