So far, I’ve had a very rewarding time at Oxford, not least because of Lincoln’s excellent athletic support and community.
I am a post-graduate student reading for an MPhil in Economics at Lincoln with the support of a Rhodes Scholarship. At Oxford, I have been fortunate to participate in numerous student activities, including the Oxford University Ladies Golf Club, a full Blue sport. Thanks to generous funding from Lincoln’s Blues Fund, I was able to compete in the varsity match and win a full Blue. Unfortunately, the Ladies team was not able to capture the trophy this year. Nonetheless, we were proud of our team as we led 2-1 points after the foursomes despite being the underdogs, which is testimony to our great team spirit. Throughout the year, I really enjoyed being part of the team and playing fixtures at some of the best clubs in the country. The second highlight of my first year at Oxford was a trip to India as part of the Oxford Microfinance Initiative, where I helped implement an impact assessment of a microfinance loan by training local volunteers and facilitating interviews. So far, I’ve had a very rewarding time at Oxford, not least because of Lincoln’s excellent athletic support and community.
