Lincoln has been an amazing place to study and develop as an academic
I am originally from Kent and am currently studying for a DPhil in Astronomy at Lincoln. Using data from powerful telescopes in Chile, Hawaii and South Africa, my research is studying how galaxies evolve and change over the history of the Universe. Because of the time it takes for the light to reach us, these telescopes can look billions of years into the past, to glimpse a Universe dramatically different to the one we see today. Lincoln has been an amazing place to study and develop as an academic. Socially (I was a member of the MCR Social Committee), academically (I was able to gain teaching experience tutoring undergraduates), and professionally (support from Lincoln enabled me to present my research at conferences in South Africa and Europe), the College has been crucial for my time in Oxford. I will continue as a postdoctoral researcher in astrophysics in Oxford after graduation.
